Financial Institution Management
We will customize a merchant bankcard solution to meet your needs.

Chase Paymentech delivers bankcard services to financial institutions across the country, ranging in size from start up "denovo" banks to banks with $30 billion in assets. These financial institutions include banks, savings and loans and credit unions. We are able to assist our banking clients in portfolio evaluation, sales calls, product demonstrations, customer seminars and bank or merchant training. Our goal is to assist our clients in the overall growth of their portfolio and revenue without the financial institution having to increase staff. We provide flexible bankcard processing for authorization/data capture services and comprehensive back office processing programs and the finest support available.

Depending on a financial institution's staffing availability, desired risk liability, merchant processing volume, and relationship preference, we are able to customize a merchant bankcard solution to meet the needs of the institution. Chase Paymentech generally utilizes one of the following processing options:

Agent Bank Processing
We provide comprehensive front-end authorization option and back-end settlement processing capabilities to a financial institution. This includes both audio response and electronic authorization services; clearing of transactions through the Visa and MasterCard networks; settlement of funds to the financial institution and its customer merchants; profitability reporting and merchant statements; and customer support to both the financial institution and merchant, if desired.

The financial institution would hold the liability on any transaction processed through the institution under this option. This liability would not be shared with our other financial institution customers. The financial institution would be responsible for managing its portfolio of merchant customers; merchant sales; setting and controlling all merchant pricing; and handling general inquiries from its merchants. Point-of-Sale (POS) equipment installation and training is available through Chase Paymentech, or a financial institution can provide this service directly to its merchants. This option offers great pricing flexibility and allows Agents to perform their own underwriting and risk management.

Full Service Processing
With full service processing the financial institution would make the initial contact with a prospective merchant and perform a pricing review. Upon receipt, we will contact the merchant, provide a presentation package (approved by the financial institution) that explains the benefits of processing with the financial institution, and demonstrate the POS equipment choices to the merchant (if applicable). Once the merchant completes the necessary paperwork, the application package will be forwarded to the financial institution for review and approval. If approved, the package will be forwarded to a Chase Paymentech representative for merchant implementation and set-up. We will perform the on-site inspection, equipment installation and merchant training. In addition, all chargebacks, general inquiries or equipment-related inquiries would be handled by Chase Paymentech. This option allows the financial institution to maintain underwriting control, hold liability for its merchants and receive all management and merchant activity reporting necessary to monitor and control the merchant portfolio. But allows us to handle all of the sales, customer and technical support on behalf of the financial institution.

Referral Bank Processing
Chase Paymentech has the ability to assume liability for and acquire a financial institution's existing merchant portfolio. With this option, we would be responsible for contracting directly with the financial institution's merchant customers; holding the liability for all transactions generated by these merchants; making all credit decisions; determining and controlling all merchant pricing; and handling all merchant servicing needs. We offer several ways to compensate the financial institution for acquiring its merchant portfolio, including an ongoing residual payment or a cash purchase. Naturally, any such purchase or portfolio assumption would be contingent upon the completion of Chase Paymentech's due diligence process.

Operationally, with this option the financial institution would refer any new leads to a Chase Paymentech representative for follow-up within 24 business hours of this initial contact. We handle the complete sales and merchant credit evaluation process. Upon approval, we will set-up the merchant and provide support 24 hours a day, seven days a week via our toll-free help desk number. A financial institution does have the choice of performing certain upfront tasks, including merchant solicitation, on-site inspections and merchant training- should it elect to do so. By performing these services, a financial institution has an opportunity to maintain good customer contact while cross-selling other bank services.
